EL MUSEO ETNOGRÁFICO LA CALCETA PREMIA A CRISPÍN DE OLOT POR SU CONTRIBUCIÓN A LA CULTURA - LA CALCETA ETHNOGRAPHIC MUSEUM AWARDS CRISPÍN DE OLOT
Dicho museo ha otorgado su reconocimiento anual al destacado actor, músico y juglar José Manuel Ramos Alonso, más conocido como "Crispín de Olot".
Este reconocimiento llega tras años de dedicación a la difusión de la cultura popular, la literatura clásica y el arte de la narración oral. El galardón fue entregado el pasado sábado, durante la celebración del V Festival Internacional de narración oral Hilando Cuentos, una ceremonia que reunió a amantes del arte, la tradición y la oralidad en un fin de semana pleno de actividades culturales.
Crispín de Olot, con su estilo inconfundible y su capacidad para fusionar música, teatro y narración, ha cautivado a audiencias de todo el mundo. Su trabajo musical y escénico, que rescata las leyendas épicas, los romances tradicionales y la tradición del Siglo de Oro, se ha convertido en un referente de la performática del juglar contemporáneo, consiguiendo una relación única con el público al fusionar la voz y la música en un viaje a través del tiempo y las emociones.
Natural de La Bañeza (León) y con una extensa carrera que abarca más de dos décadas, Crispín de Olot ha sabido mantener viva la tradición del juglar, recorriendo plazas, teatros y festivales con su arte por los cinco continentes. En cada la actualidad, combina la antigua herencia del narrador ambulante con la labor docente en la UNED de Zamora para alumnos mayores de 45 años.
Durante el V Festival Hilando Cuentos, el Museo La Calceta, sito en Sta. Olaja de la Vega (Palencia) destacó la importancia de las artes performáticas en la Edad Media y la contribución de Crispín de Olot en la preservación de este patrimonio cultural inmaterial, origen de nuestras modernas artes escénicas . La directora del museo, Heliodora Martínez, señaló que "Crispín de Olot personifica de manera excepcional la juglaría ligada a la literatura y la palabra, uniendo generaciones a través de la poesía y la música".
Visiblemente emocionado, el galardonado quiso expresar su gratitud por el reconocimiento y afirmó que su misión siempre ha sido "mantener vivo el legado del juglar, esa figura que es la voz, la música y la tradición del pueblo y que sitúa al público frente a sus raíces culturales". Encomió, además, el apoyo de todos aquellos que han creído en su proyecto artístico y divulgativo, destacando la importancia de seguir promoviendo la memoria de la palabra en un mundo cada vez más digitalizado.
Este galardón reafirma el lugar de Crispín de Olot como uno de los referentes de la juglaría y la narración oral en el ámbito hispano. Su apuesta por un arte escénico semiolvidado le ha granjeado un espacio privilegiado en el corazón de la cultura popular, tanto en España como en otros países donde ha llevado su arte.
El festival, organizado por el Museo Etnográfico La Calceta y la asociación cultural Cascabelia, contó con una variada programación de actividades, entre las que se incluyeron talleres didácticos, exhibiciones y espectáculos de narración oral y música. Además, participaron destacados artistas como el payador argentino Wilson Saliwonczyk o Taxus Baccata (Rocío Pérez Rodríguez), narradora española que combina su expertise en ciencias con la narración.
En su quinta edición esta iniciativa cultural, atrajo a un numeroso público durante el fin de semana y concluyó con una ceremonia en la que se recordó a los anteriores premiados, entre ellos la musicóloga Marcela Sabio (Argentina), la romancera Victoria Gullón (España), el titiritero Miguel Ordóñez (Argentina), fundador de La Casa del Títere de Paredes de Nava, y el actor mexicano José Luis de la Cruz.

The museum has given its annual recognition to the outstanding actor, musician and minstrel José Manuel Ramos Alonso, better known as "Crispín de Olot".
This recognition comes after years of dedication to the dissemination of popular culture, classical literature and the art of oral storytelling. The award was presented last Saturday, during the celebration of the V Hilando Cuentos International Oral Storytelling Festival, a ceremony that brought together lovers of art, tradition and orality in a weekend full of cultural activities.
Crispín de Olot, with his unmistakable style and his ability to fuse music, theatre and storytelling, has captivated audiences around the world. His musical and stage work, which rescues epic legends, traditional romances and the tradition of the Golden Age, has become a benchmark for contemporary minstrel performance, achieving a unique relationship with the public by merging voice and music in a journey through time and emotions.
Born in La Bañeza (León) and with an extensive career spanning more than two decades, Crispín de Olot has managed to keep the minstrel tradition alive, touring squares, theatres and festivals with his art across the five continents. In each current day, he combines the ancient heritage of the itinerant storyteller with teaching work at the UNED in Zamora for students over 45 years of age.
During the 5th Hilando Cuentos Festival, the La Calceta Museum, located in Santa Olaja de la Vega (Palencia), highlighted the importance of performing arts in the Middle Ages and the contribution of Crispín de Olot in the preservation of this intangible cultural heritage, the origin of our modern performing arts. The director of the museum, Heliodora Martínez, pointed out that "Crispín de Olot personifies in an exceptional way the minstrelsy linked to literature and the word, uniting generations through poetry and music."
Visibly moved, the award winner wanted to express his gratitude for the recognition and stated that his mission has always been "to keep alive the legacy of the minstrel, that figure that is the voice, the music and the tradition of the people and that places the public in front of their cultural roots." He also praised the support of all those who have believed in his artistic and informative project, highlighting the importance of continuing to promote the memory of the word in an increasingly digitalized world.
This award reaffirms Crispín de Olot's place as one of the leading figures in minstrelsy and oral narration in the Spanish-speaking world. His commitment to a semi-forgotten performing art has earned him a privileged place in the heart of popular culture, both in Spain and in other countries where he has brought his art.
The festival, organised by the La Calceta Ethnographic Museum and the Cascabelia cultural association, featured a varied programme of activities, including educational workshops, exhibitions and performances of oral narration and music. In addition, prominent artists such as the Argentine payador Wilson Saliwonczyk or Taxus Baccata (Rocío Pérez Rodríguez), a Spanish narrator who combines her expertise in science with narration, participated.
In its fifth edition, this cultural initiative attracted a large audience over the weekend and concluded with a ceremony in which previous award winners were remembered, including musicologist Marcela Sabio (Argentina), romancera Victoria Gullón (Spain), puppeteer Miguel Ordóñez (Argentina), founder of La Casa del Títere de Paredes de Nava, and Mexican actor José Luis de la Cruz.
