Crispin d'Olot awarded in Colombia Medellin August 14, 2022
The XXII International Festival of Accounting City of Medellín "Between Tales and Flowers" has highlighted Crispín d'Olot with the title of "Great Enchanter" for his work in storytelling and for his artistic quality but also for his human quality, his camaraderie and his cordiality, feelings that make the job of narrator great.
The festival took place from August 6 to 14 with 30 national and international storytellers who formed the cast of the festival and took place in different spaces of the city - Porfirio Barba Jackob Theater, University of Antioquia, National University, Vivapalabra Cultural Corporation, Vázquez Building, etc.- during the Fiesta de las Flores, Medellín's biggest festival.
Crispín d'Olot considers that this is a prize awarded to his research work and recovery of the art of the minstrels and the performance of the Golden Age, whose heritage is still present today in all of Ibero-American scenic art.
In his workshops and interventions, Crispín traced a synthesis of history and stories, language and literature, poetry and linguistics, with musical and paratheatrical resources. With humor and vitality he took viewers back to the origins of his language and the formation of the Spanish language. One of his most beloved and requested topics was that of ballads, to which he dedicated a workshop at the National University.
The artist from La Bañeza feels happy with this recognition that the main and most distinguished creators of the Latin American stage oral narration have received.
